Panasonic Toughbook has unveiled a new Partner Programme in the UK called Engage. The company says it forms part of a multi-tiered channel approach to support and incentivise partners to grow new and existing markets.

Resellers who are part of the Engage Partner Programme will receive dedicated support and online product training.

A R Digital install File Stream Document Management at Llanwern High School

Hartridge renames itself Llanwern High School and is about to move into new £25M state of the art buildings. Alongside this the school has purchased a File Stream Electronic Document Management System to capture and archive considerable present and past data records built up over the last forty years.

Compliance with both the Data Protection Act and the Freedom of Information Act demands that information is properly protected, secure from inappropriate disclosure, yet easily and rapidly available to authorized users.

Mr Peter Jenkins, the Headteacher, considers the following as the main benefits of installing the File Stream Document Management system: -

Considerable space has been saved because fewer filing cabinets are required.
Pupil records are more efficiently stored and can be retrieved easily.
Authorised members of staff have access to the records simultaneously, instead of having to track down paper files that might be in another staff member’s hands.
Paper records that were previously vulnerable to fire, flood or other disaster are now electronically backed up and safe from physical loss.

The data is being scanned into the Filestream Electronic Document Management System using a Panasonic KV-S5055 high speed colour scanner and the first stage of the implementation will cover school pupil records, finance department records, staff addresses, purchase orders, etc.
